Ease of Use
TorGuard’s proprietary VPN applications are best for those who want to fine-tune every aspect of the application, up to the level of encryption used.
Ignoring the complex design, we can confidently say that TorGuard works well and does the job with the least amount of confusion. Applications run on the OpenVPN protocol, and you can manually select UDP or TCP if necessary.
TorGuard has many advanced settings, but fortunately they are very precisely arranged within the applications. They allow you to add extra layers of security, switch to using TorGuard’s proxy servers, or even run custom scripts.
Using TorGuard is as easy as downloading and installing the VPN application from the website. Just sign up for a TorGuard account, visit the downloads section and click the button for the device on which you want to use the VPN.
Server Locations
There are 50 countries in TorGuard’s VPN server network; that means you shouldn’t have trouble finding someone wherever you are in the world.
We don’t know exactly how many IP addresses TorGuard has, but with more than 3,000 servers offered, you’re unlikely to experience any server congestion.
Speed and Reliability
TorGuard is a fast VPN service when you connect between the same countries. However, international connections are not that fast.
Before using TorGuard:
When connected to torguard:
Download speed without TorGuard: 91.18 Mbps
Download speed with TorGuard: 85,76 Mbps
Loss of download speed when running TorGuard: 6%
TorGuard’s fast loading and ping times in the same country of just 9ms are an excellent choice for both torrent and gamers. We also found that the connections were very reliable when there was no sudden drop in their connections.

Encryption and Security
TorGuard is a very secure VPN service and keeps you incredibly safe online. Not only does it use the highest AES-256 encryption level, but the TorGuard Windows application by default is OpenVPN, the most powerful VPN connection protocol, and our personal favorite by default.
TorGuard also has a VPN kill switch and runs its own DNS servers to protect your personal information.
Customer Support
TorGuard has sufficient customer support for VPN service. The website is full of useful information but can be hard to navigate, and TorGuard has no real effort to explain complex concepts or use simple English. Forums are good for specific questions.
Do you recommend?
No registration, lots of servers and IP addresses, fast local download speed and even running in China: TorGuard is an impressive VPN and its high score reflects how much it affects us.
Still, it wouldn’t be right to say it was perfect. TorGuard’s international connection speeds are slow, applications are outdated and it is unreliable to unlock Netflix continuously.
