Avast SecureLine

Does not keep daily, 34 country options, torrent permission, AES 256 encryption and more!

Avast is a well-known name in the Internet security world. So how is Avast SecureLine VPN service?

Avast Secureline offers both free (7-day trial) and paid versions. They use 256-bit strong AES encryption and you can choose between OpenVPN, IPSec and IKEv2 protocols.

Server speeds are at the top of the line, even in the top 20 lists of our fastest reviewed VPNs, but they still fall behind the best providers like Express and NordVPN.

Is this a good provider? Let’s learn this in the Avast Secureline VPN review.

Avast SecureLine VPN Pros

  • Impressive speeds
  • Servers optimized for presentation and streaming
  • Special applications for popular platforms
  • Connect securely to 34 countries
  • Protection against DNS and IPv6 infiltrations

Avast SecureLine VPN Cons

  • Confusing pricing plans
  • Customer support needs to be improved

Ease of Use

Avast VPN’s custom applications are modern and user-friendly. They will especially appeal to users who are new in the VPN world.

The server list is well organized with the option to view all available countries or filter by continent. It’s easy to see which countries have city-level server options and which servers are optimized for torrent or streaming. If you don’t need to connect to a specific country, just click / click ‘Best Location’; The VPN application will connect you to the nearest server.

Server Locations

Avast’s VPN server network is small. There are only 34 countries and 54 cities.

That’s below average.

As with most VPNs, coverage is concentrated in Europe and North America with many city-level options in these countries. The US has 16 city-level servers covering both the east and west coasts.

In Europe, Germany, Russia, Spain and the UK also have city-level servers.

There is no information about the number of IP addresses Avast holds.

All servers offer a single shared IP address that can cause server clogging and slower speeds as the client base of Avast VPN increases.

Speed and Reliability

The speed of Avast VPN is often impressive.

Before using Avast SecureLine VPN:

When connect to Avast SecureLine VPN:

Download speed without Avast: 99 Mbps

Avast download speed: 93 Mbps

Download speed Avast SecureLine: 6%

We have very good speeds on the same country connections, while using SecureLine VPN there was only a 9% loss of download speed. This is really good.

More than that, Avast can increase ping and delay time. We recorded ping scores that were higher than the average, especially in nearby links. Still, this is not the end of the world. Avast easily accomplishes many other tasks, including Full HD video streaming and fast downloading.

Platforms and Devices

Avast VPN provides custom VPN applications for:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Mac OS Operating System
  • iOS
  • Android

It’s nice to see custom apps for popular platforms.

Unfortunately, there are no manual workarounds for other platforms, such as Linux.

You cannot configure your router to work with SecureLine VPN software and automatically secure all home devices connected to the Internet.

You can use Avast on 5 devices at the same time (when subscribing to a multi-platform price plan).

Pricing and Opportunities

Avast SecureLine has several mixed pricing plans among many other products sold by Avast.

Avast SecureLine VPN

$79,99

You are billed $ 79.99 a year.

Popular

Avast SecureLine VPN gives you 7 days free trial. It is quite easy to obtain this right. You can download and install the application from the web sites without any information and start using it. A 30 day money back guarantee is available but there are terms. If you exceed 10GB of bandwidth usage or connect to the VPN more than 100 times in 30 days, you will not be eligible to receive a refund.

Encryption and Security

Avast VPN is safe enough for beginners.

For those who want the highest level of privacy, this is not the best option.

Windows and Android applications only run on OpenVPN, one of the most secure VPN protocols, and there is no way to connect to a VPN server using another (less secure) protocol.

MacOS and iOS applications still use IPsec, which offers a good level of security. Encryption is performed through AES-256, the highest level password used by the US federal government. So you can be sure that you will be safe. Avast VPN does not offer enhanced privacy in any way. You get what you see.

Customer Support

Resources on the website are limited to setup guides and basic FAQs and are incredibly difficult to navigate, but at least there is a search feature.

The FAQ will cover only basic troubleshooting issues, but for anything beyond that, you should contact the support team and be prepared to be patient.

Do you recommend?

We recommend those who use Avast SecureLine VPN for the first time and who care about having low-budget connection permissions on multiple devices at the same time. This is a VPN service that will meet your needs seamlessly.
